Advantage Partners started activities in Asia in 2007 when we set up the Hong Kong office as base for supporting our Japanese investee companies to grow their operations in Asia. In the following 10 years, our Asian activities have achieved great success in supporting the Japanese portfolio companies to develop their businesses in Asia, in sourcing and making investments in China and North America to realize successful exits driven by the performance improvement led by our team.

As the Asian economies transitioning to a stable growth stage and the society and consumer activities getting matured, the buyout market in Asia is expected to expand further. In order to take advantage of our experiences in Asia led by our Hong Kong office, and our expertise and networks fostered in Japan, we launched our first Asia Fund in 2016 to target investment opportunities in greater China and developed Southeast Asian economies.

The theme of the Asia Fund is “Japan Link” - pursuing investment returns by creating values connecting Japan and Asia. We extend our our long-standing practices in Japan to Asia by committing to the hands-on management support and value enhancement through sustainable growth and development of the business of our portfolio companies..
