We hereby announce that on April 30, 2013, funds served by Advantage Partners LLP (“AP Fund”) completed the acquisition of all shares of five related companies including Hokuo Service, Co., Ltd, Hokuo Care Service, Co., Ltd, New Town Co., Ltd, Hotto Kitchen, Co., Ltd and Fukujuso Co., Ltd (“Hokuo” or the “Company”) through a special purpose company, AP36. At the time of the acquisition, Yuichi Suzuki, the founder and prior owner of Hokuo, invested in AP36, resulting in Mr. Suzuki maintaining an ownership in the company. Advantage Partners LLP (“AP”) together with Mr. Suzuki will seek further expansion of the company.

Hokuo is an owner and operator of assisted living facilities, operating 18 facilities on the island of Hokkaido. In addition to nursing homes, the company offers and manages multiple nursing care related services including, in-home nursing care, day-care and food services. From its establishment, under the leadership of Mr. Suzuki, Hokuo has been able to continue to expand its business successfully. However, Mr. Suzuki made the decision to form an alliance with AP36 to pursue further development of the Company by strengthening the organizational and capital structure of the Company.

AP intends to support and strengthen Hokuo’s business model of providing a variety of services to patients of various stages through a one-stop shop offering with clear pricing, thereby delivering high satisfaction and comfort to customers. Utilizing AP’s investment knowledge, experience, and networks, AP will work with Mr. Suzuki to strengthen the management structure and to pursue various growth strategies including opening new facilities.
